Incontinence and ProlapseAlthough pregnancy and childbirth can bring much joy to women, they unfortunately can also cause damage to the female pelvic floor. Women who undergo cesarean delivery may have a slightly lower risk of pelvic floor dysfunction. Repetitive straining, such as heavy lifting and constipation, as well as prior pelvic surgery including hysterectomy can also damage pelvic floor support and function.
Many women are not aware that pelvic floor disorders such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and anal incontinence are not only common, but also can occur in women of all ages. Surprisingly the reality is that female pelvic floor disorders can affect up to half of adult women.Cancer Screening & PreventionThe early detection of cancer is the key to successful treatment and surviving cancer. We screen for many cancers, including breast, colon and rectal, cervical, prostate and skin cancers.
There are many things you can do to impact your health to lower your risk of cancer:
- Quit smoking
- Eat healthy and exercise
- Look for ways to keep your environment healthy
- Follow guidelines for cancer screening.
