Fertility Treatment

Bozeman Deaconess Women's Specialists offers comprehensive medical and surgical treatment for couples with fertility problems. The services include evaluation of patient and her partner, surgical treatment if necessary including laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, and administering and monitoring of fertility medications. We are a satellite center for the University of Washington reproductive endocrinologists and work with them to help you achieve pregnancy.

Gynecology

Our obstetrician/gynecologist (OB/GYN) physicians are highly specialized in the diagnosis, care and treatment of women’s reproductive tract health issues, including reproductive, sexual and postmenopausal health. Essentially, electronic health records are your complete medical chart in digital format. Your provider will have your medical chart right at hand and that is important because it results in improved patient safety, enhanced quality of care and better health outcomes. The system even sends prescriptions to pharmacies electronically and automatically checks for allergies and medication interactions.

Incontinence and Prolapse

Although pregnancy and childbirth can bring much joy to women, they unfortunately can also cause damage to the female pelvic floor. Women who undergo cesarean delivery may have a slightly lower risk of pelvic floor dysfunction. Repetitive straining, such as heavy lifting and constipation, as well as prior pelvic surgery including hysterectomy can also damage pelvic floor support and function.

Many women are not aware that pelvic floor disorders such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and anal incontinence are not only common, but also can occur in women of all ages. Surprisingly the reality is that female pelvic floor disorders can affect up to half of adult women.

Cancer Screening & Prevention

Urogynecology

Many women suffer from problems involving the pelvic floor structures, including the bladder, genital tract, lower gastrointestinal tract and pelvic floor muscles. Often these problems result from injury to the pelvic floor with childbirth, physical stress or injury, chronic disease or prior surgery. Women may also experience leakage of urine while coughing, laughing, lifting or exercising. Or, they may leak with a sudden uncontrollable urge.

These symptoms can be both annoying and embarrassing. The good news is that treatment options are available. Drs. Nickisch and Gillis specialize in the evaluation and treatment of urinary incontinence, bladder dysfunction, vaginal or uterine prolapse, fecal incontinence and complex gynecologic conditions such as fistulas or complications from surgery.

Three Dimensional (3-D) Ultrasound

Expectant parents no longer have to wait until the birth to 'see' their baby's face. Bozeman Deaconess Women's Specialists now offers a non-diagnostic 3-D ultrasound called "Baby's First Photo." We're the only site in the area offering 3-D ultrasounds, there is no need to travel to Billings for this exciting service that has become more common among today's expectant parents. Best results are obtained between 28 and 30 weeks gestation.
